Working for an international business, you will work alongside other experienced Trade Mark Attorneys and Trade Mark Lawyers, supporting a region and the marketing teams in relation to their trademark, design and copyright requirements.

Those applying will have experience of advising on multi-jurisdictional trademark clearance searches, trademark application processes, trademark portfolio management, trademark prosecution and contentious matters, such as oppositions, cancellation actions and infringements.

Specifically, you will:
Liaise directly with internal clients based at Head Office and in their local markets to advise them on clearance and protection of new pack designs, innovations, sub-brands, product features, slogans and logos.
Initiate searches and prepare reports as to the availability of trademarks for registration or use, including liaising with outside counsels around the world.
Be responsible for reviewing packaging material as well as trademark legends to ensure proper usage and dealing with IP related ad-hoc queries from your internal clients.
Assist with the management and prosecution of the trademark portfolio, including liaising with market lawyers and outside counsel.
Review watch notices and trademark journals to identify possible trademark applications to oppose.
Assist with contentious matters, including assisting on opposition, cancellation proceedings and infringements (evidence preparation, reviewing statutory declarations, instructing outside counsel and advising business and market lawyers).
Support the region in relation to trademark license recordals, trademark portfolio audits, copyright issues, domain names and other ad hoc issues
Provide IP compliance training to market lawyers and marketing teams.

The ideal applicant will be familiar with the tasks outlined above and reporting to a Senior Trade Mark Counsel, you will able to manage a case-load relatively autonomously. You will enjoy working with a diverse group of IP and Legal professionals and will be part of an ever-evolving, innovative, highly commercial business.

A visible role - you will be keen for personal development and will benefit from being with a business which can realise your ambitions with opportunity to travel internationally and scope to work in additional related areas. This is a company of opportunity; a progressive organisation with a relaxed, sociable culture, you can expect genuine work-life balance with flexible working offered as standard.

This is the perfect chance to try something different whilst expanding your experience gained to date, with a comprehensive list of benefits available for the appointed candidate.
