The Talent & Development Manager is a brand new and senior role in the existing HR team reporting to the HR Director and working alongside the HR team as a whole. This is a great opportunity for the right person and will involve a varied and busy workload; supporting the day to day learning & development requirements of the firm and developing a new talent management strategy which will support and complement the firm-wide business plan. The Talent and Development Manager will provide oversight and management of the firm’s performance management processes, talent selection and learning & development programmes- it will involve strategic thinking, development of initiatives and delivery of coaching, training and projects.
This person will work collaboratively across the whole firm to deliver a range of development programmes and initiatives with the overall aim to retain key people and improve capability & levels of performance. Communication skills will be key- proactively building relationships across all practice areas and business support teams, providing professional HR advice and guidance on people management and development, undertaking training needs analysis and designing the firm’s internal training programme.
They will work closely with the Recruitment team to improve talent attraction and selection methods and designing and developing career development pathways. In addition they will review and analyse trends coming out of the new starter reviews, exit interviews and driving improvements where necessary.
The successful individual will have an excellent academic background with a CIPD qualification and post graduate qualification alongside considerable experience in HR and development & talent. They will have significant experience designing, delivering and evaluating development activities with a proven track record of leading on and delivering projects in a complex environment. Excellent communication, client care and influencing skills are key- the successful individual must gain trust and confidence quickly and be able to demonstrate strong relationship management skills. This person will have the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and act as a leader and mentor to the HR team as a whole.
Passion and enthusiasm for learning and development is a must, as well as the ability to use initiative and work under pressure!
